Joint tenancy vs licensee — why the difference matters

Irish residential rules treat different living arrangements differently. A joint tenancy with the landlord is not the same as an informal licence from another housemate. Getting that wrong can change notice, rent continuity, and who the RTB will listen to. Housemately’s calculators ask structured questions and refuse unsupported edge cases.
